Cassidee Broom--the next Daisy Duke

Another fun part of our Tennessee weekend was going thru the Dukes of Hazzard museum. There were replica cars, all the old memorabilia, and t-shirts galore! For $5 you could actually go sit in the cars to take your picture. We figured that Cassidee will never really understand why we were taking these pictures of her on these cars, but maybe someday she'll have a small appreciation for it....

Our Tennessee Weekend

I still can't do the picture thing on blogger very well. These pictures are not in order at all, but I'll go thru and explain the best I can....

Pic #1- We rode on the General Jackson on Sunday afternoon. It's a river boat where we enjoyed a buffet lunch and country music show. It was a fun float down the river.

Pic #2-Cassidee's first airplane ride. She was exactly 6 months old on Friday and we left that morning for Nashville. She did really great! She was a social butterfly. She would turn around in the seat and talk to the people behind and beside us. That is probably why the guy next to Jeremy is listening to his IPOD...

Pic #3-On Saturday afternoon we had to run to the mall to find me a dress. Yes, I searched and searched in Lewisville for a dress for the wedding. I finally found one and, of course, I left it at home. It was still hanging in our closet when we got home on Monday....anyway....we went to the mall to find me a dress and ended up eating lunch at the Aquarium restaurant. It was great. It really kept Cassidee (and Jeremy) entertained! Jeremy says he wants a fish tank like this in our house??!!

Pic #4-Our family at the wedding. My husband looked so handsome in his tux! Too bad I didn't really see any of the wedding because Cassidee and I were in the cry room with another groomsmen's wife and child! Oh well, they had fun playing together!

Pic #5-We had airplane tickets to leave Nashville on Sunday night at 7:00. Jeremy and I ended up each taking $500 vouchers for a flight the next day. American put us up in a nice hotel and we enjoyed one more night in Nashville. Too bad we had no luggage and came home in the clothes we had worn all day the day before. Hope we didn't stink up the plane....And, how clean are you really when you take a shower and put all the dirty clothes back on? Is that shower even worth it??? :)

All in all we had a fantastic trip. It was nice to take a mini vacation and take Cassidee on a trip with us. There were a lot of "firsts" for her. Her first plane ride, her first trip out of the state of Texas, her first wedding, her first trip to the Dukes of Hazzard museum. Pictures of those in the next post.....

She's 6 months already?!

I can't believe Cassidee is already 6 months old! Seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital! It's amazing to see what all she has learned how to do in the last 6 months. She sits on her own, plays and keeps herself occupied (for a little while), tries to crawl, "talks" to everyone around her, and wants to stand up and hold on to things. Time has flown by!

She loves the ducky water mat!

She's already scholarly--reading her Elmo book!
Sitting by herself, looking at her cups!

Happy half birthday, Cassidee! We love you!

What a fun weekend!

Let me start with a little background story about this photo. No, it's not a recent shot. This was taken back at the end of January. This was at my baby shower for Cassidee. Jodi was a couple of months pregnant there also. The four of us took a "normal" picture together, but then thought it would be funny if all of us poked out our tummies like we were pregnant. (some of us didn't have to try to poke it out...) Anyway, a few weeks later we found out that in that picture Rachel really was pregnant. (Lindsay is not...so she says...) So....

Now, I have had Cassidee, Jodi has had Reagan, and we are waiting on Rachel to have Roselyn. This picture was taken last weekend at Clint and Rachel's baby shower. It's going to be fun to get one of all three girls (in person) soon!

Cassidee was wearing her Texas Longhorn outfit that night as Texas played Ohio State in hopes of getting a victory. Instead all she got was crabby towards the end of the night. She parties hard and then needs a nap! (Poor Clay, he tried to cheer her up)

I saw this on someone else's blog. You can go to www.snapshirts.com and you'll find the "Blogger's" word cloud over on the right. You put in your blog address and it puts out a word cloud with all the words you have used the most in your blog. It is interesting what comes up. The bigger the word, the more often it is used. For some reason the word "mean" shows up pretty big in my word cloud... Hmmm....

This new toy has changed our lives!

This is a great invention! Cassidee will sit in her Johnny-Jump-Up for hours! I don't know if that is what they are still called, but someone has made a fortune off of something that was around 27 years ago when I was a baby and it is still going strong today. Cassidee LOVES to bounce in this thing. She won't even stand in our laps anymore without bouncing! Jeremy will sit and play the guitar and the faster he plays, the faster she jumps! It's hilarious!

Sunday School

This past Sunday marked the very first time that Cassidee went to Sunday school at church. She and I were in Decatur for the day and since we were actually early enough to church we decided to go to Sunday school. I wish I could say that I have no idea what went on, but I stayed. She was the only baby that showed up, and it was around her normal breakfast time, so there was no telling how she was going to act. Of course she was totally fine! I stayed behind her where she couldn't see me and she didn't look for me one single time! (It made me sad, but also proud that she was a big girl) She loved singing the songs and learning to "brush" her "teeth." Maybe next time I'll learn to let go...
