Swimmy Lessons and Valentines Day!

Last Saturday was Cassidee's first day of swimmy lessons. She LOVED them and didn't fight getting in the water one time. In fact, she cried as we got her out, dried off, and changed her clothes. We had to hold on tight to her....I think she would have gone back in the water with her clothes on!

The kids (and mommies or daddies) start out in the kiddie pool to get used to the water before moving to the big pool. I was sad that Jeremy missed her swimming debut since he had to work, but thanks to my mom and dad for coming and taking pictures and video. I think they sat in the grandparent section---they weren't the only grandparents with video cameras!

Does it make me so sad that Cassidee's swim suit is too short for her long-ways and way too big for her around her middle? YES, sad that my swim suits don't fit me like that! :-)

On to Valentines Day!

My day started off wonderful! Not because I got flowers or chocolate or even a card.....Charlie came over to play while Amie ran some errands! Poor guy, at our house he always ends up sitting in or playing with something pink! (Bradley, I'll get this picture framed for you to set on your desk at work!!!!)
Cassidee loved that Amie and "puppy" (long story) had come over to play. By the end of the day she was actually calling him Charlie! We're making progress!

Then, so I could go take a nap and stuff, (JUST KIDDING) Cassidee gave Charlie his bottle. She did a great job--it was good practice for her! She didn't like that I sat and rocked him to give him his bottle, so he ended up like this. Our next baby may not ever get to cuddle with mommy if Cassidee has a say-so.Whew! Hopefully we started a new holiday tradition last night over at the Way's house. We had dinner at their house, eating lots of red things, and having yummy dessert when we were finished. Here, Amie and Cassidee are having fun decorating their cookies with icing and sprinkles.Who really eats the cookie? We just lick the icing!

Amie convinced Cassidee that the easiest thing to do was just pour the sprinkles straight into you mouth! Yup, called you out Amie! Atleast I didn't tell that you taught her to dip her strawberries in sugar!!! :-) Seriously, love you!!!! :-)
Of course you can't eat all that and make a mess without taking a bath later! This was one of Cassidee's few times to mix bathe so she was rather excited!

Whew! We've been busy!!!

I am hoping that one day we will find time to sit at home and do nothing, but, for now, we are enjoying getting to "go and do" all the time!

I hate to start with this picture, but here goes! We've tried a few forms of "punishment" on Cassidee.....time out, spanking, go to your room......the one thing that seems to work is sticking her in the corner. And, most of the time she doesn't actually find the "corner" of the wall, but she puts her hands up like this and just leans on the wall crying. It's the one thing, for right now, that seems to hurt her feelings and she knows she's been a bad girl.

Cassidee got to go to her 2nd concert of her life last Saturday. We got free tickets to see the Doodlebops. Although she doesn't watch their show very much, she had tons of fun singing and dancing during the concert.

Bye Bye, Mo!And, bye bye Trailblazer! :-( We sold my car this week (in hopes of purchasing something that gets lots better gas mileage), and I'm kinda sad still.....

Cassidee got to ride on an airplane for the 2nd time in her life to go to Houston and see Jodi and Reagan! (Thanks Rach for the ticket)

Cassidee was GREAT!!!! I can't even say that enough since I was nervous taking her by myself. She had her own seat on the way there, and although we had to share a seat on the way back, she slept the whole way!

She LOVED the apple juice and pretzels snack on the plane!

Of course we have to match the girls as much as possible. So, when we got to the Beaver's house that night, Cassidee put on her purple jammies like Reagan was wearing!

Jodi and I took C and R to the Houston Zoo. Although lots of it were under construction we had tons of fun and got to see lots of animals!

What a fun day!!!

Cassidee and I enjoyed a good part of the day yesterday by ourselves. Jeremy had to go out for a little while, so we did quite a few fun things together.

Cassidee got a little impatient when I couldn't help her get some cereal right at that moment. So, she went to the pantry and got the cereal. She went to the cabinet and got a bowl. And, she began to get her own cereal.....

I looked down and wondered how she poured it.....but then I realized it was coming out one hand-full at a time!

Uh oh, mommy! That's what I heard when I walked back out of my bedroom and into the kitchen. She kept asking me for milk---to which I kept saying "just a minute." Poor Cassidee and those silly footy pajamas! They were too slick, so she busted on the kitchen tile floor. Oh well, it made for some cute pictures!

Then, once we cleaned up the cheerios we decided to do a little painting. "Mink, mommy" (pink, mommy) That's our favorite color these days! (And, I have to add that just in this last week she has learned pink, yellow, black, and white) And, I also think it is weird that she won't ever say red. That seems like an easy color with a short name to learn, but she never will say it! Weird!

Then, mommy thought we needed to take a walk. I had cleaned the kitchen and the bleach smell was giving me a headache. I asked her if she wanted to ride in the wagon to the park.....silly question. So, off we went in the 30 mph wind and stayed at the park for all of 7 minutes. She was cold, but she liked it.

Anyway, I hope that I don't get her sick from taking her out in that cold wind.....I really thought it was warmer than it really was!

And, to top off our night, Cass went to Nana and Poppy's house and Mommy and Daddy went to see a movie. 27 Dresses was good---I thought---and Jeremy even enjoyed himself and cracked up at a few parts! I'm glad he is a good sport to go to chick flicks with me!

We don't know if we are having a boy or girl yet.....

The first picture in the last post was from when we found out about Cassidee. I didn't think about it when I put it, and I just thought it was a cute picture of Jeremy.

So, we will definitely let you know when we find out what it is,

which could be February or March. :-)

Happy Birthday, on the 24th, to a great husband and fantastic father! Here are a few of my favorite pictures of him--mostly with Cassidee. I love you Jeremy! Happy 28th!

I'm 11 1/2 weeks and have a dr. appointment tomorrow afternoon.

Cross your fingers we get to hear that precious little heartbeat---

and that Cassidee is a good girl at the dr. office.

I have to take her by myself since Jeremy has to work tomorrow!

A little bit of Christmas and a little bit more....

I'm just now getting some pictures off my camera that have a little bit of Christmas left on them. We did Jeremy's family Christmas the day after and my batteries died in my camera not long after we got there. I really wanted a picture of Cassidee in front of Becky's tree---oh well, next year.

Cassidee, of course, had a great time opening presents. I wish I had caught the look on her face when she walked in and saw her "big" present. She loves her new wagon and we can't wait until it's warm so we can take it to the park!

Then we were off to my aunt's house to celebrate my Grandmother's 90th birthday. We got to see lots of cousins who live FAR AWAY now! Thank you to Lisa for doing Voo-Doo Chicken Feet, or whatever Glenn called it, on me. Evidently it says that I'm having 3 girls (not all at once.....just eventually) even though I'm convinced that's not right....
Lisa also did her voo-doo on my sister Kayla, with her fiance Camron watching anxiously. I wish I could remember what her "prediction" was from Madame Lisa.....one boy and one girl?
She did it on Camron just to test the voo-doo. I think it worked---or he had an extra kid in there..... We'll have to watch Camron! :-)
Last week Jeremy, Cassidee, Jeremy's dad, and I got to travel to Shreveport for one night. We don't get to see Nanny and Big Daddy often enough, so this was a real treat for us! Cassidee loved the mirrors in their room!
Check out her forehead. She ran full-speed into a wall and slid down (something straight out of a cartoon)! She had a nasty wall burn on her head for a while.

Luckily it's gone with no trace of a scar!

She had tons of fun at their house. She found some matchbox cars and that was the toy of the day for her. She layed in the floor with her daddy and rolled them back and forth (and lined them up). She almost liked the cars as much as she liked getting cans of tomatoes out of Nanny's kitchen cabinet. I wish I had gotten a picture of that!

But, a big thank you to Nanny and Big Daddy for letting us stay with you one night, for letting us "tear up" your house, and for the boat. Oh yeah, if anyone wants to hit the lake this summer, we got an awesome boat from Nanny and Big Daddy!!! Thanks!

Cass woke up one morning with crusty crap coming out of her eyes. She got pink eye and we had a bit of trouble holding her down to put drops in her eyes. We thought we'd try bribing her....my mom said that Cass could put drops in her eyes......that worked fine, but Cassidee still didn't like having them put in her own eyes. Luckily it's cleared and we're done with the drops!

She has a favorite toy at my parents house....a chalkboard easel. It's the one from when I was little!!! She tells everyone to "SIT" and we all draw on the chalkboard. I guess she got a little bored with the outside of it, cause she climbed under and drew on the inside.....whatever!

And last, but certainly not least, here is a little bit more Broom Family news. I didn't realize that some people didn't know that we were pregnant. (Although they'll probably really be mad that everyone knows and they're finding out on my blog....) We've obviously known for a while, but wanted to make sure this one hung on tight for a while before spreading the news to everyone. This ultrasound picture was from my 7 week dr. visit, so you can probably make out our little blob somewhere in there.

Any prayers that are lifted up for our little bean in there would be great.

We're a little more paranoid this go around, although we try not to be, but we know that our baby is in good (God's) hands.

So, I'm sorry to Angie and Kimberly B. for not sending the memo your way!!! We'll have a play group at my house soon---will that make up for it? :-)

Just a funny video....

Cassidee and I stayed a couple of nights at my parents house this weekend. They literally play and keep her up as much as possible the entire time---works for me....I sleep! I never knew exactly what they did when they went and "played" on the computer or listened to music. I learned quickly....
