Totally bragging on my big girl....

This post is the result of me crying today because my child said "thank you" to me for reading a book to her......

Ugh!!! It is killing me how much she has grown up just in the last 2 months or so. She has really picked up on the "thank you" thing and says it all the time!!! If I put her in her car seat she says it. If I turn on the TV for her she says it. If I put her in bed for a nap she says it. And, it's really cute because we first taught her the sign for thank you. (Putting your hand on your mouth and making a forward motion with it is thank you in sign language) Anyway, she has never quite done it correctly so every time she says it she just sticks her hand up and covers her mouth and the CUTEST little phrase comes out of her mouth that sounds like "tank-y". Makes my heart completely melt!!!!
So, on to this post. I've decided to include a few of her new "tricks" and things she has learned. She will be 18 months old this week and I was writing this stuff down in her baby book, so I thought I'd share some with you avid readers as well.....

TV shows she loves:
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Handy Manny
Little Einsteins
The Goodnight Show
The Elmo part of Sesame Street

She has perfected a fake "burp" and still does her fake "cough." Heard her do a fake "sneeze" one time also.

Says Elmo = Mel-mo
Says Dora = Doe-wa
Says Backpack = back-back
Says Boots = oots
(yes, she loves anything Dora, but never really watches her on TV---don't know how that obsession started.....)

She knows the signs for "more," "all done," "milk (drink)," "please," and "thank you."

She loves to say "SIT" in a very commanding voice, although she isn't being mean, and she points to where she wants you to sit. She uses this when she wants you to sit in the chair and hold her or sit by her while she eats.

She loves babies. She likes to look at them and pat them. She's very gentle. It upsets her when they (or anyone) cry. She'll cry if they don't get taken care of fairly quickly.

LOVES to sing and do the signs to "Itsy, Bitsy Spider" and "The Wheels on the Bus" songs. If you are ever with her, ask her what the baby on the bus does---soooo cute to hear her go "wah, wah, wah...."

Can recognize the letters: A, C, and E---which ironically spells ACE! Can also recognize the numbers 1 and 2.

She loves to pick out her own clothes to wear. If we are at the house she ALWAYS picks out her camo shirt or shorts to wear. I don't know why she gravitates to those. She likes to pick her dress for Sunday morning church. She doesn't ever pick the same one two weeks in a row and she will definitely tell you NO if you pick up the one she does not want to wear.

She calls herself "Dee Dee" which is completely cute, but we have heard her say "Cassidee" once or twice.

She can tell you what sound almost any animal makes or face it makes----if she doesn't know (like a grasshopper we saw today) she makes a chomping sound---don't know where that came from. Must be her stand-by noise.

She is soooo sweet and loves to give you a "big squeeze", "big kiss", or "knuckles", and if she gives one to one person she has to give everyone else around the same thing!

I know that most of you have your own children who are completely fabulous also, but I wanted her to look back at this post one day and know how proud of her I was when she was 18 months old (and any age really). She is amazing to me and I appreciate you letting me share all of this with you!!!

And I promise to post pictures of this "amazing" child soon---my camera battery is dead! :-)

I just love the age that she is - that was one of my absolute favorite ages. They are truly becoming independent and smart. She is so cute - I love seeing her at church with your parents. You guys have a sweet family.

Well, brag, why don't ya?!?! :)

Seriously, she is SO great! I just loved reading about all her new things! It is so funny... anytime Reagan does something new, I think back to "what age was Cass when she started this?" She really must admire Cassidee because she is trying to do EVERYTHING like her right on track!

Looking forward to new pics!

Okay as a bragging Granny Barbie I was so excited to see all those things listed. What do I always say? "She is soooooo smart I just know she'll be reading by the time she's three" Kendra's heard that a thousand times from me. Love her I just want to squeeze her tight. Hugs and Kisses, Cassidee, Love Granny Barbie
