It's not summer yet and I'm already HOT!!!!

Almost every time I tell people that I'm due August 2nd I get the response, "Bless your heart. You'll have to go through the summer heat pregnant." I'll admit---it annoyes me when someone says that. Yes, it's hot in Texas. But, I've lived with it for the past 29 years. I can make it one summer pregnant. Plus, I'm always freezing, so the warm weather may just regulate my internal body temperature.
-
But, I will admit, that I was pretty hot on Tuesday of this week. I got home from school, picked up Cassidee, and headed to my in-laws for a little pool time. I knew Cass wouldn't mind this one bit, so we put on her swimmy suit and some sun screen, just in case. She was perfectly content to stay on the top two steps since I didn't get in the water and we had a great 30 minutes outside! I need a little sun time anyway since my sister is getting married in 15 days and I don't want to look like a ghost in the wedding!

And, for those of you who are just dying to hear about Cason's room--again--we changed our mind about the bedding--again! I'm not even posting a picture this time. Seriously, I'm going to kill my husband---who keeps doing this to me---but I think we've finally decided, so now you'll just have to wait for pics of the finished product.

Found it!!!!! (Cason's bedding)

of course, I said that the other day and look what happened.....

But, after Jeremy searched the internet last night he ended up back at Pottery Barn and found this. (I wish it showed it in a room, on a bed. This was the only picture of it...) We could only find it in the girls section as pink and finally clicked on it and it came in navy as well. I don't know if I'm a huge fan of all the white, but it's growing on me. Jeremy says we're going to paint the walls of his room a dark khaki color and we'll hang canvases and stuff that have other colors in them. So, I know that most of you are totally bored with this story line, but we've found his bedding! Finally! I think.....

I'm sooooo behind.....

....which is so obvious since this picture is three weeks old! This was a cute picture of Hayden and Cassidee taken on the way to the Aquarium in Dallas. I'm not even bothering to put any others from that day since everyone else already has and mine didn't turn out that great anyway!

So much has gone on in the past couple of weeks that I feel like I would have a ten page post, so I'll leave you with some pics of Cass and Jeremy painting together this week. She LOVES that she gets to stay home with her daddy 2 or 3 days a week. They have so much fun and he does some fun stuff with her. I know that he takes her to the park and to see the animals at Cabellas. He is also a great sport when she wants to hang out and paint!

Cheese! (That's the "stop taking my picture" face!)

I thought it was really cute that Jeremy looked at me and said, "Can I paint her face?" Um, hello---she's your daughter too. Be a big boy and make a decision yourself. She didn't even ask him to, but she sat really still while he created his masterpiece on her cheek---a sun.

Cutie little girl! And, by the way, the blue paint stained her nose for a little while.....just an FYI for any other dads that want to paint their kids faces.....

****SHOUT OUT****
Thank you to Amie for introducing me to corn nuggets at Chicken Express today. Not only have I NOT stopped thinking about them, but I went back after I dropped you off at home....yes, I'm telling the truth....and bought more. A little piece of Heaven in one little bite! Go get ya some if you've never tried them! (Green for you, Amie!!!)
*******Random info for anyone who cares********
I sincerely appreciate all the comments I received from everyone about Cason's bedding and decorating his room. UNFORTUNATELY, after seeing the bedding in person (we had decided to get it after only seeing it online---big mistake) we don't love it after all. Jeremy and I spent an hour in PBK tonight and decided that we won't get that bedding after all. We still like the idea of something navy and possibly stripes, so here is my new question to everyon:
Where in the world do I look for bedding?
I am good with Pottery Barn pricing. I don't want to pay a fortune for custom bedding. I've looked at Target, Land of Nod, Babies R Us, and somewhere else that I can't remember and don't love anything......where else should I look????

Cason's room.....ideas, please!

Here is the bedding that we have pretty much chosen to have in Cason's room. I'm a sucker for Pottery Barn striped bedding! :) (Cass had pink/yellow stripes)
Anyway, my questions for all of you creative bloggers....
1--what color would you paint the room? (don't say light blue---Jeremy's weird and hates that color in excess)
2--if you didn't paint the entire room one color, what would you do?
3--we are incorporating "sports" in the room as well, but don't want just one sport and don't want an overkill of sports stuff in there. Any suggestions how to tie sports in without it looking super sporty? I don't know if that is much of a question, but.....
4--suggestions in general? another color we could tie in with that? I suggested red. Jeremy said no. He's going to have to "get over it" on some stuff, but you know.....
Anyway, any suggestions or ideas would be great!

7 crazy things about me....

Here are the rules…
–Link to the person who tagged you.
–Post the rules in your blog entry.
–Share 7 random, or weird, facts about yourself.
–Tag 7 random people at the end of the post, linking to them.
–Leave a comment on their blog so that they know they’ve been tagged.

Thank you, Andrea, for tagging me. I've done this before......but I'll do it again for you!

#1--Like Melanie mentioned in her blog, I have clothes organized by shirt style and then by color. That way I'll know what's dirty, what I just wore, what's missing.....

#2--I'm not hungry with this pregnancy. If you know me, you know that is a crazy thing. I'm an eater---I always have been. But, since I've been pregnant I've skipped many meals just because I'm not hungry!

#3--I hate doing repetitious things. I recently had to write, address, and stuff 50 envelopes for a wedding shower---HATE IT. I can't stand to sit and do the same thing over and over and over. That's probably why I really want to crochet badly but I just can't do it. I hate sitting there doing the same thing over and over and over.....

#4--It makes me gag to brush my teeth. Yes, I still do it, and no, it's not just cause I'm pregnant. I've always been this way.

#5--I can't/don't cook. Jeremy is always pleasantly surprised when I tell him that I will handle supper. It's not that I can't as much as I don't know what to cook. I have to use recipes. People can't tell me to just stick chicken in the oven or something like that. I have to have specific cook temps and times. So, Rachel's recipe blog has recently saved my life!

#6-I taste anything I give Cassidee. I have done this all her life. Baby food, regular food, medicine, anything she had to eat, I try it first. I just did this the other day with her new allergy medicine. Maybe I do it so if it tastes bad then I'll know she'll put up a fight..... I think it's funny that it grosses Jeremy out!

#7-Speaking of grossing Jeremy out, I always dig in his or Cassidee's eyes for eye boogers. You know that sleep junk you get. Both of them always have it and I just can't help it.....I also dig out Cassidee's nose boogers. I let Jeremy get his own out of his nose.... ;)

I'm tagging everyone on my link list.....

Now, before I end this boring post I do have to send a SHOUT-OUT to my sweet friend who got some great news this weekend. I'm not going to spoil anything, but you know who you are---and I love you, thinking about you, and just smiling right now! :)

A better week....

I can't post with pictures since I am at school, but I just had to put a new post on here. I got so tired of opening my blog and seeing that depressing post about my uncooperative daughter. So, here's this week's news.....

She is so much better. I don't know if it is a fluke. I don't know if she is too tired to fight. I just don't know, but this week has started off wonderfully!

We are trying many of the "tricks" and pieces of advice that all of you gave. (Thank you!) And, I still intend on reading the books that you mentioned as well. She loves getting choices and making her own decisions. She is using great manners these days---always saying thank you when I hand her something and saying please when she wants something. She is talking non-stop with new words that I have never heard her say before and we are just loving the "conversations" that we have with her now.

So, thanks to everyone for your pieces of advice last week. Hopefully we are on an upward climb....I know, wishful thinking....
