Cason's room.....ideas, please!

Here is the bedding that we have pretty much chosen to have in Cason's room. I'm a sucker for Pottery Barn striped bedding! :) (Cass had pink/yellow stripes)
Anyway, my questions for all of you creative bloggers....
1--what color would you paint the room? (don't say light blue---Jeremy's weird and hates that color in excess)
2--if you didn't paint the entire room one color, what would you do?
3--we are incorporating "sports" in the room as well, but don't want just one sport and don't want an overkill of sports stuff in there. Any suggestions how to tie sports in without it looking super sporty? I don't know if that is much of a question, but.....
4--suggestions in general? another color we could tie in with that? I suggested red. Jeremy said no. He's going to have to "get over it" on some stuff, but you know.....
Anyway, any suggestions or ideas would be great!

Love me some Pottery Barn!! Look online and in the Pottery Barn catalogs for room ideas. I think adding red to the room would be cute!! I think you need more than just blue, so red would be good!

...That's about the only advice I can give. I'm just not all that creative! :)

I LOVE RED!! I think that it would look SO good with the bedding ya'll chose!! Don't forget to post pics and tell us what ya'll decided.

I also love hints of red. If Jeremy doesn't like light blue I would - OK, I would have Justin - paint the walls yellow with small dark blue stripes. Does he like yellow?

I'm certainly no design expert (and I hate to go against the flow) but I wouldn't be a fan of red...with the blue and white it seems too patriotic. (I've also heard it is a huge pain to paint.) I was thinking an orange or green would be fun. Yellow would be nice too, but maybe a bit girly. You could do one wall a color and leave the other walls white, but paint a stripe going around the whole room. Happy designing!!

I like lime green with different colors of blue, or even orange. I have no idea about paint color.

I actually really like the red and blue idea. My friend did a sports theme in her twins' room and did red and blue. They have a baseball plate/bat ceiling fan. She also has their names above their cribs (like everyone does), but the O's are either a basketball or a baseball. Very cute! Other colors I thought of were orange (although I would never do that because I am a Colts fan, hence not a Bears fan) or a yellow - but you have to not think "Crayola" colors, but rather softer shades. I have tons of ideas. I will share them all if we ever finally get together!

I really like the stripes! Here's an idea - you could paint the room a really bright, crisp white, and then you could paint a border about 2/3 way up the wall of the navy/light blue stripe pattern from the bedding. I'm so ready for all of these babies to get here!

Ok, I thought I left a comment about this yesterday. In fact, I know I did. But it isn't on here! Weird.

I am voting for khaki walls. Not light like my living room, but a brown-ish khaki. Then you can accent with blue, red, stripes, brown footballs, tan baseball bats, whatever. Even do the shelf you talked about with blue above it and khaki below. But, I know you'll pick something cute regardless!! :)
